I had a smaller Olympus that I really liked, so when it came time to replace it I decided on this model. Captures crisp, clear photos. I took it to photograph the moon last month and they came out very sharp and clear. At the same time, I took some shots with a Cannon EOS using the larger of my two lenses and a tripod. Olympus photos taken handheld with a smaller telephoto lens were much better. For batteries, I use silver lithium batteries, which last quite a long time. I've taken over 800 photos with flash and zoom and they still hold up. If you're looking for a lightweight camera with easy-to-use features and crisp, clear images, this is a solid choice. The only thing I don't like is the lack of a viewfinder. You have to fight the LCD screen in the sun.
