High wear resistance. Velcro is best. I even had to work hard to take them off! We ended up getting large front paws and xlarge for back paws on a 100 lb dog/German Shepherd mix. Works great outdoors on concrete, turf and dirt. The neoprene style fabric dried so quickly when wet and no dirt built up on it. Doggo wasn't thrilled about wearing them, but they were comfortable and he quickly forgot about them. The machine washed them and worked great. They are designed for occasional outdoor use. Not the ones you would use for walking in the snow or rain etc. The gauze pads have survived a couple of socks and you can order replacement gauze liners. If you have a dog that constantly wants to lick their paws, this is a great investment (along with the right veterinary care). Ps, there was a small problem with customer service which the company quickly fixed.
