This was my favorite add to my new above ground pool! I was looking for something to make my water cooler in the texas heat. I won't say this was a huge help but it did decrease the temperature 1-2 degrees. It is a nice addition in the pool to keep everyone cool. My water is a bit harder and definitely after one season I can tell the one pipe is a bit discolored but it still works flawlessly, even after 5 months of continuous use. Install was a bit hard just because we couldnt get our intake off. We had to get a rubber wrench to help loosen it. Once it was off install was a breeze. It also doesn't decrease the waterflow throughout the pool
