The outside is very soft plush leather, which my pictures can't show, sorry. The partitions of the right-hand storage compartment are sliding and can be removed if desired. Overall I'm very happy with this jewelry box, for its size it can hold a lot, literally all my jewelry except for the occasional plug which I keep in a matchbox. I've spent my time looking for a good jewelry box and this is by far the best price and value for money. Buy it now, you won't regret it, I promise.
