Review on Optimized Fairtex SP5 Muay Thai Shin Guards - Black, Blue, Yellow, Red by Matthew Maxwell
For mixed martial arts it is best to use shin guards.
I do MMA and Muay Thai. For muay thai I use king top pads. However, for MMA I prefer the Fairtex SP5. The reason for this is that the defense it offers is at the same time very light and doesn't get in the way of a power double or a takedown that requires me to duck. If you are reading this review and need MMA shin guards, buy the Fairtex SP5. Don't waste money on brand advertising or cheap gear. Think of quality gear as an investment in your hobby, and most importantly, in your health.
