I have been looking for cheap angle clamps to help with frame making and other small woodwork. Many of the inexpensive strains got a lot of bad reviews, so I was a little disappointed that I would find something that would suit my needs without breaking the bank. Then I saw them at a local hardware store and they looked to be of acceptable quality. Revain had a good discount on them so I ordered and hoped for the best. They have a more polished look and feel than most budget competitors. For example, the ends of a screw switch are rounded rather than forged to hold them in place. You still have a small rivet that takes all the bolt clamping force, which is probably the weak point in the design. I haven't had any problems with it, but I'm aware that I'm putting too much pressure on him with the screw. The effect of the screw leaves a lot to be desired. Many turns are required to reposition the orthosis. Since it's not designed for strength, they could use coarser threads that allow the mount to move farther with fewer turns. This will give you less torque, but considering they're meant for light work, that's probably a good thing. Pros: Better fit and finish than competitor clamps. Good price at the time of purchase. adapt slowly
