After replacing the door handles on my exterior doors and the front door of my home with a new white Larson door with polished nickel hardware, I decided it was time to replace the brass storm door side to improve stainless steel handle. I was originally considering ordering a new pen from Larson until I saw this pen. This is definitely a versatile pen. The kit contained enough hardware to attach doors of different thicknesses. The instructions were a little confusing until I figured out what applied to my setup. It took about an hour to remove the old handle and install the new hardware. I had to, as mentioned by several reviewers, use a step drill on the outside of the door to enlarge the through holes so the outside panel was flush. The first is just as good (dare I say better) than the factory hardware Larson installed on the door. The handle makes a very robust impression. The lock, while I'm sure it's not intended to secure anything, seems adequate and secure. Spending $40 versus $70-80 for a pen to get the same results sounds a little better for my wallet.
