Difficult to get a smooth surface

The removable carbide scraper has sharp corners that make it difficult to clean large surfaces without leaving burrs. Hyde's earlier model had the corners merged into a slight curve to avoid this problem. The earlier model worked well for over 25 years until it was stolen. If you see one at a flea market, buy it.
