The file is amazing. The grip is comfortable and does not slip when wet. There are two patterns - one is slightly rougher than the other. I started with the coarser one. As soon as I was almost done showering, I began gently rubbing the dead skin off my heel. I have terribly dry skin there. To my surprise, the skin came off easily, I didn't have to worry as much as some others I've used before. Also, he was pretty gentle, he scratched but didn't scratch, you know. The skin on the file was easily washed off with water from the shower hose. Then I turned the file over to the other side, which was less rough, and it sort of smoothed out any rough skin, smoothed out the heel. I mean, I'll never have it like it used to be when I was a kid, but I really liked the result. The skin was smooth, didn't stick to anything, and, well, tingled like I was being massaged on my heels. The file is strong and well made and the best part is that unlike a regular file with a wooden surface covered in a rough black substance, this file has a stainless steel surface that will never crack. I love using it. Can recommend it unreservedly.
