My observations: - On the thickness of the t-shirt (it does not show through at all) - The color is very consistent with that shown in the picture. Maybe not as deep checkered black as it looks in the picture. - Different lengths, with the shortest part covering the shorts, maybe with a 3 inch inseam - I will wear the shorts under this skirt; It covers the bottom of my butt about two inches. I would say size. I ordered my expected size according to the size chart / my usual size and it fits me perfectly. I could probably fit a size smaller if I wore it around my waist, but it has to stretch to the limit to fit my hips. The "faux sleeve" part of the tie helps pull it tight, so if I'm in-between sizes I'd consider a grading. His style will hide a small amount of excess fabric, and a tie will help maintain proper tightness.
