As Nstar users know, the manufacturer no longer supports their equipment. I was looking for an inexpensive replacement for our system at the Elks Lodge. We wanted to be able to reuse the proximity cards already issued to members and not go through the expense and hassle of reissuing them. Our Nstar system is set up with HID readers. The UHPPOTE board is compatible with them. Instead of using only the 5-digit code printed on the old cards, the UHPPOTE also wants the 2-digit or 3-digit facility code. This code was already implanted in the old cards but had to be scanned by the UHPPOTE in order to read it. HID readers are not compatible with UHPPOTE proximity cards.I had to contact tech support to get the right software download site. But, after that, the software was easy to install and use. I just had to input 700 members into it.
