I have several types of angle clamps and clips in the style of these aluminum L clamps from TopGearWorld. They are the most versatile and I use them the most. They can do the job of a jawed angle clamp but have a much more compact footprint which gives me more freedom to position the work piece for driving fasteners. They also serve as the main spot for quick checks. They won't replace my frame square, but I can use them to test the square on a saw or jig. Especially these 90 degree clips from TopGearWorld are very well made. The workmanship is good, the anodizing is pleasant, the positioning angles are exactly 90 degrees. The L-shaped threaded connectors snap in well, and the handles, while plastic, have metal threaded inserts and attach fairly securely. They have a measurement scale in inches on one foot and centimeters on the other, but they don't start or end at the corner or end of the foot, so while they're accurate, they're less useful to me because they're only measuring relative to each other and not a reference point have on the square. They clamp 2x wood easily, not sure why the listing says 1.38" max, but in one of my photos I have them at 2x8 and there is plenty of thread left in the L clamp. In the end they are well made, very useful and versatile marking tools to have in my carpentry shop for a very reasonable price. I highly recommend them.
