My previous desktop was a LapGear brand and has served me well for over 4 years so I chose that brand again. The knee pads are plush and very snug and there is enough airflow between the two pieces to keep me from overheating. Phone slots are not very deep. If you have a large phone, it might not stay in place. I would have preferred to put the cell phone next to the laptop on a table surface, but the surface is too smooth for me. I'm going to glue a small rubber pad to the surface to allow my phone to stay in place. The computer has grip pads to keep it in place. The rib at the front end of the surface also helps hold the computer in place. My laptop has a 14 inch screen and this laptop is just right for it. (I work without a mouse.) This is one of the prettiest desktops I've ever seen. I use my laptop almost all the time when I'm working on the computer, so it's important that it's good. It's not the best, but it's pretty good.
