I bought these for my 9 year old daughter, she has very sensitive ears. I refused earrings for her, but for her birthday she asked for them. I read as many mixed reviews (as there are for anything) and it took me a long time to actually buy them. We haven't had them long enough to see any really crazy wears, the earrings are holding up really well! And their ears don't respond at all! These earrings are exactly what she wanted, her favorite color is blue and they are big and pretty enough to make a statement! I say give them a chance, all kids are different, don't let the mixed reviews confuse you :)
