Review on Topping D50s Bluetooth 5.0 USB DAC HiFi Audio Decoder - XMOS XU208, 2 x ES9038Q2M, DSD512, 32Bit/768kHz USB/Opt/Coax (Black) - Ultimate Audio Experience! by Rachel Harris

Amazing Technology --- Clean extended highs --- Slightly thin sound overall

Unlike other USB oriented DAC setups I own --- The little D50 Toppings was truly "plug and play" ". runs with a minimum of fuss and worries (wish ALL USBs were that easy!). It works flawlessly and goes through the data rates used in high definition online streaming services up to and including 24/192. If you're looking for an entry-level high-resolution DAC, this is one of the best I've used. The high frequencies are processed by a selectable set of filters that extend the high-frequency range while removing the harsh flare that so often accompanies digital audio. .Very extensive, very clear and amazingly detailed. The downside is that the AUDIO section of this DAC is a cheap op amp type with a typical cheap $200 CD player tone. If only the timbre and "color" of the notes were richer, this product would be a no-brainer, or they say "giant killer". Whatever it was, it's EXTREMELY clear sound and maximum detail. a reliable USB DAC (which is pretty rare) that's easy to set up and perfect to use. And it supports ALL the sample rates you could ask for, including DSD. and plastic. Exactly what you would expect from a sub-$1,000 DAC. It sounds like a few hundred dollar NAD CD player. I use mine in smaller systems just to get the improved digital high-resolution frequency response. And the user-friendliness is hard to beat. It even tells you that you're getting true high resolution when the display shows the sample rate. So that. Highly and enthusiastically recommended for its price. shockingly good, since it basically offers more clarity --- and that's THAT.
