Terrible smell! for women

I would give this product 5 stars because it's well made and I love it, but since I've unpacked it the strong smell (like in a tire shop) just won't go away! I hesitate to use it because of the smell, the product itself is pretty good for its price. I'm not sure if it's just me or if others have had the same issue. I threw away the packaging, otherwise I would have sent it back :(
