Review on Jeacent Conditioner Cover Outside Winter by Aaron Jones

Looks good - hooks can damage the paint over time

I just installed this finish so my comments/ratings are not related to durability or long term usability issues. I bought this case instead of the others because it goes well with my air conditioner. I wanted to fit a square lid with my AC box (the corners of the lid to the corners of my AC box) and the size/cutout of this lid fitted perfectly. Other 28" x 28" covers I looked at had large corners cut out, meaning they didn't fit properly on my 26" x 26" air conditioner. Published measurements of the angles of this cover would be desirable. Due to the lack of these measurements, I had to calculate myself using one of the product images. My biggest concern with this product is the steel hooks that come with it. I'm worried they might chip/peel the paint off the air conditioner. I ended up buying a foot of thin vinyl tubing and threading the ends of the hooks through the tubing so I didn't have to worry about damaging the paint. It would be nice if this was included in the product. I prefer metal hooks to plastic hooks (plastic can have UV resistance issues) but paint scratches can be solved. The lid also has an odor as many others have mentioned which I don't think is a big deal considering it has to be used outdoors. Nevertheless, I made sure to wash my hands after picking them up. I'm making some assumptions about which side of the lid is up and which side is down. A sticker or notice on the product would be helpful. I doubt many people want the dark green AC box cover, so I'm assuming it's the underside. I doubt that both sides of the lid are equally UV resistant, and they're definitely not the same color, so it's important to know which side is the top. The intended top of the cover is a white and black pattern, giving it a dark gray appearance. The intended underside of the cover is dark green. The intended bottom of the cover has a smooth PVC feel and the intended top of the cover has a canvas feel. I personally think that the slick PVC material on the supposed underside could allow standing water to get stuck (and eventually cause rust) between the cover and the top surface of the air conditioner, but I have a hard time knowing if this is actually the case the case would be the case. question at this point.
