Good cover for heating, cooling and air quality

The cover itself is quite waterproof and made of good material. The bungee app didn't work for me because: 1) the edges of the bungee were sharp and not rounded, so had a lot of potential to scratch the device. 2) My air conditioner has access to a panel in one of the corners so there is no grille to hold on to. I ended up taking the rope and threading it through the drilled hole in the 2x4 piece at each corner. Holds the lid well.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Retrofittable

Easy to use and holds up well

Bought this for my home in Connecticut. I wanted to cover the top of the air conditioner to prevent ice and snow from getting in from the roof, but leave it open to keep rodents out of it. It worked well, completely covering the top of the device and was secure enough to stay in place during snowstorms and strong winds with a little movement. At the end of the season I just folded the laces in and put them away. Aside from a little fading in the sun it looked great and wasn't brittle like I…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Minor issues

Not sure if this will close the air conditioning and work, but it's a great option for my outdoor unit. Firstly, with the open concept, the device dries with airflow, but the top is closed, so ice, snow and leaves no longer get into the device. The airflow keeps the device dry while protecting it from the elements and dirt. I've read that it's best not to completely cover the device with plastic to allow it to air dry. Works great and won't go away! The lid is held firmly by the supplied cords

Good fit and material

I measured my device diagonally, it measures 36 inches from corner to corner so I chose the 36 x 36 inch option and it fits perfectly. It looks great and fits perfectly with the included bungee cords. The bungee hooks did not have the small end protector as shown in the photo in the listing. The cover material looks well made, the top layer is similar to vinyl. for weather protection with fabric base to protect your device from scratches. The grommets seem firmly attached to the corners and…

I love these things!

Easy! i love this shop I've had Jerry's cover for a few years now. It covered most of the outer block. My block has a metal casing around it. After googling, I found that covering the entire outer block is not a good idea. airflow, you know. It's best to keep leaves, mud, and snow off the top. What a wonderful, simple idea. Anyone can install them. I loved the design so much I bought one for my family too! I've found water on mine a few times after rain so I know it's doing its job. I'm only…

It seems to work

I recently installed a new AC unit; The installers recommended only covering the top instead of full coverage, so it looks like it should work. It's basically a tarp with some reinforced bungee cord holes. Nothing fancy, but again, it's a case, not a decoration. It is held in place with elastic cords; Note that the cables are completely disconnected from the lid. So if the cord is lost due to a break or whatever, you can easily replace it with a regular bungee cord from any hardware store. My…

To buy the best type of cover, do your research!

Last summer I finished installing the central air conditioning in my house, my uncle and I did it ourselves. Unfortunately we finished the work towards the end of the summer, but that is beside the point. A year ago my neighbor did a CAC install at his house and in the fall I noticed he had a nice cover over his condenser unit which is outside so of course I wanted one too. I started doing a lot of research and finally came to the conclusion that these types of lids (lids that only cover the…

Looks good - hooks can damage the paint over time

I just installed this finish so my comments/ratings are not related to durability or long term usability issues. I bought this case instead of the others because it goes well with my air conditioner. I wanted to fit a square lid with my AC box (the corners of the lid to the corners of my AC box) and the size/cutout of this lid fitted perfectly. Other 28" x 28" covers I looked at had large corners cut out, meaning they didn't fit properly on my 26" x 26" air conditioner. Published measurements…

Quality cover for my central air conditioner

We live in northern Illinois so it gets quite cold and snowy in the winter. I had just had our air conditioning and heating replaced as they were over 21 years old and I was concerned that the stove might break down this winter. Decided to do central air conditioning at the same time to save a few bucks on the overall plumbing plus the old unit using freon that is no longer available or allowed to be used. My old stove and middle air was also a Bryant brand and after standing well for 21 years…
