As others have noted, the shorter plug (the one that goes through first) is wider than 2 inches. I used the sanding attachment in my Dremel tool to enlarge the 2" hole at 3 and 9 o'clock. Hour. You can also use a round metal file. When the hole was big enough for the shorter connector, I grounded a little more for 9 o'clock to make room for the taped wires (which should run concurrently with the second connector). I pressed the taped wires of the larger connector into a tight S-curve and pressed the flat part of it against the wires of the shorter connector. Then everything will go through the hole. I put wide masking tape over the connector holes to keep out grease and dirt when I fished them to the back of my truck. I used half a dozen 8" cable ties (not included) to secure the cable under the truck. It worked fine but I'll give it one star for the crappy instructions. The job would be easier if the wires for the two plugs were longer, it took me about an hour.
