The material felt thin, but comfortable to wear if thinness doesn't bother you too much. My main issue was the fit. While the waist belt was comfortable, the leg opening was too wide for me. So they looked tight at the waist and hips but hung around the leg. In general, apart from my short stature, I'm an average build person, so I've never had this problem. For reference, I'm 5ft 2in, 107# tall and bought a small one.
