Pros: β’ This is an inexpensive boom microphone solution. β’ It is very portable and has built-in cable clamps. β’ The stem end can be removed to accommodate a smaller mount. Cons: β’ This is an inexpensive stand, so a microphone of any weight can knock it over without additional support (very light stand). β’ It doesn't extend very high (think of it like a traditional mic stand, not a boom), and the higher you go, the greater the stability factor. β’ I bought a "new" but this shelf is clearly used. It had scratches, the paint on the legs was already scratched from use, and there were fingerprints all over it, like the previous owner had eaten something fried before putting it together. Summary: I have an eight foot long acoustic ceiling, so the height is not high. for me this is a big problem. I'm using a Rode mic so weight doesn't matter. I plan to use it to record ads, so its portability is great. I will be sitting on most of my personal entries so overall the stand meets my needs and is reasonably priced. If you are looking for something more durable and stronger maybe bigger and longer. well, you will pay for it.
