Reliable purchase, guaranteed to be a good purchase.

1. Roomy model.
2. The noise level is insignificant (we can say that it is not there), compared to my other WD RE 4 TB (according to the passport noise level 31/34 dB) and Hitachi 500 GB (according to the passport noise level 25 dB in idle mode). Moreover, the last two models are quieter than the noise generated by the CPU cooling system (92 mm fan). And the noise of the CPU cooling system, in turn, I do not consider loud for operation in a quiet apartment (listening to quiet music, watching movies, etc. ).
In principle, if you bring your ear close to the HDD, you can hear a high-frequency squeak of ~17.5 kHz (the frequency was measured with a software spectrometer on Android), and the noise of disk rotation, and the noise of the movement of hdd heads. But in a closed PC case, only the sound of heads moving is somehow distinguishable, again, much quieter than my other HDDs do.
According to item 2, we can unequivocally say that the issue of noise for modern hdd is no longer decisive.
3. Vibration level is low, suitable for NAS.
4. The intended purpose of use is the daily backup of critical data, which, I believe, hdd can handle (from the point of view of probability theory, the probability of failure of two semi-independent / dependence on the power supply and software / hdd is lower than that of a similar raid 1 array).

Pros

Fast, very quiet, low vibration, high volume.

Cons

1. Doesn't know how to brew coffee. 2. High-frequency HDD squeak (~17.5 kHz) as, in fact, in many other HDDs (it is definitely present in my WD RE 4 TB /~19 kHz/ and Hitachi 500 GB /~18 kHz/, which I had no idea about before, until I built the noise spectrum). But in all the cases listed above, this squeak is audible if you bring your ear close to the device. From a closed case, this frequency practically does not penetrate outside (this sound is not distinguishable already at 0.7 m directly in front of hdd, and even more so with a closed system unit). 3. Not cheap, 15 k. Rub /10202222/.
