I use this thing almost daily and am very happy with the mechanics. I'm 5ft 7in tall and have no problems with the stride. It feels sturdy enough - I have it sitting on thick plywood with a rubber shop mat on top so I'm sure that stabilizes it more than being on carpet. I am trying to build up my stamina after multiple surgeries so I haven't been going crazy so I can't comment on its' performance for a strenuous workout yet. The biggest problem I have with it is that it never reads my heart rate - just can't get the dang thing to give me an accurate read out. I've resorted to just using my fitbit instead.
