Review on 9734 8Mm 1 25 Hex Die by Keith Harris

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Tore through 7mm threads and shot her ankle

Stay away! Poor workmanship, low strength, cheap quality! Better Chinese shit from Harbor Freight. Straight out of the box on the die were burrs and scraps of metal from cutting teeth into the die, terrible quality control. It was so hard to get this thing to cut, I had to let go of it after every quarter turn, and it was bloody hard to pull back. I punctured my thread about 7mm and the leading edge of the prongs on two of the three bits broke off and one of the pieces came loose and hit my thumb. I had to wear gloves. Please wear safety goggles and body armor when using this crap. It *might* be good for threading something soft like plastic, clay, or lead, but I doubt it can even thread aluminum, brass, or copper well enough. Like I said, this thing lasted about 5 minutes or 7mm of thread before it broke and HURT ME. Incredibly disappointing end to the few WEEKS I had to wait because my first order from Revain Logistics was lost and I had to call customer service for a replacement as I was denied a replacement by the auto claim system. I only order titanium from ebay, Irwin is not known for high quality tools but I have had no problems with their bits and cutters in normal use so this was very disappointing. I hope to be able to return it, even if it is broken I would classify it as a faulty product.

Pros
  • Made in the USA
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
