I've been changing oil in cars and trucks since the late 60's. I prefer to change my oil and always filter, yes you can get this new oil with additives that last a long time. long .always read the label carefully history @ city, short stops and muddy areas you change the oil and filter often 3km to 5km you drive to work on the open road say 45 minutes to an hour non-stop and drive, You can change the oil /filter @7k-10k, but I've always used Wix filters on all my cars/trucks. Factory Hyundai, Wix, and ran 2 km, changed the oil / filter again, many people used normal filters and found that they had to get new engines. Well I've done 200,000 on the motor and it still runs smooth as glass.
