I have a very curious toddler who is starting to learn to walk and now that he's more agile he's starting to climb in closets! Oh no! I chose these locks and was impressed with how easy they work. Attaching them to the handles this way allows the cabinet doors to open slightly when pushed, but mostly stay closed. It is not easy for a child to unlock the mechanism, but it is easy for an adult. It's made of plastic that feels strong enough to challenge a growing, curious child. I push things further back in closets so that if the closet doors open a little when you pull them, my child can't reach the things if he manages to put his arm through.
