The clamp will tend to open and disengage from either attachment point.
Scared me to death. Three times over the course of about 10 flights, one of the clips attached to the ring screwed into the controller was opened and disconnected from the controller. I just bought some superglue gel and permanently disabled the clamp opening. I see no need to ever remove it. If necessary, I can simply unscrew the silver attachment point. Otherwise great, but this shortcoming made it almost more dangerous to use and trust the belt than not to use it.
