Very good item. More than expected. Was a replacement for a broken Sony 10" DVD. I like the picture quality. I haven't even removed the self-adhesive plastic screen protector! I understand the noise 'may' be a health issue. Perhaps in an attempt to To minimize hearing loss or damage, is the volume on purpose low? I don't know if that's a fact. However, what I do know is that the volume of the earbuds or headphones from this device definitely sucks! It's awful! Nonetheless, it is it's a good device.I bought it and compared it.For $ this is one of the nicest and best values.I rate it 7 out of 10 overall.I hope this is helpful.At least look at your purchase with open eyes (and ears)!
