Review on ๐Ÿ”ฅ KOTTO Solder Smoke Absorber: Efficient Fume Extractor Fan for Soldering Station - A Must-Have DIY Working Tool by Matt Davis

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I can't believe this works.

So I'm a HUGE fan of quality tools. For soldering, I choose the Hakko brand. But I needed another aspirator and after a recommendation but with some skepticism I ordered this KOTTO machine. First, I like the metal construction. I like that the power button is on the side (easier to reach than the button on the back). And what I like most is that this thing just works. When I turn on my IR reflow station, I usually belch out enough smoke to set off the fire alarm in my apartment. But with this KOTTO extractor sucking in fumes, not only do I not get smoke alarms, but I don't even smell the usual "after-soldering" smell. This exhaust fan from KOTTO costs about half. Hakko FA-400. KOTTO is made of metal and seems of higher quality to me. Same size fan but KOTTO is much more compact. I intend to buy more KOTTO hoods for different desktops.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Band
