Review on 🚲 Superteam 700c Clincher Carbon Wheelset: 38/50/60/88mm, 23mm Wide, UD Matte Finish by Brett Jarvis

Great wheels! The best update!

I didn't think these aero wheels would improve my handling. I own two bikes, a Fuji 2013 SST 1.3 Di2 with Bontrager air-light alloy wheels and a Kestrel RT700 Ultegra10 with Mavic Equipe Elite wheelset. The Kestrel weighs 17.8 pounds, but the Fuji is my fast bike at 15.8 pounds. I bought this wheelset about a month ago from a friend who didn't like the loose sound, never installed. He simply sinned at the wheel and the sound was too much for him. Installed it on a kestrel and did a group tour of 53 people. My wife killed me on those long journeys, but not this time. I was able to lead all the way, climb, climb and so on, never fell down and when I reached the finish line my friends didn't know about my improvement in just a week (apparently they noticed the new wheels but they didn't realize that these wheels were so important). Now Fuji. This beast is my bike diva and therefore my fast group ride, flat as a pancake bike. I bought a second set of wheels and was "lucky" to have the "old" version. The old version is very quiet than the new one. While the new ones can produce a very usable and "expensive wheelset-sounding" sound, the old ones sounded more like a cheaper road bike. Back at the track, my Fuji can compete with pretty much any bike in its price range, but now I'm leading the guys with ease, throwing them and have plenty of power left. I can now easily maintain 18mph and climb 10% with less effort (of course I was pushing it, but not as much as before the bikes). Again and again this wheelset is such a big improvement that I have bought two and next week I will be getting one for my wife as she is now scratching her head at how I even dropped the 53 mile lead Group B rider , when I used to be a middle class rider. Super Mega Ultra Highly recommended. Hope they don't increase the price after this review!

Pros
  • Nice package
Cons
  • Ok for the most part, but...
