Review on Wireless Doorbell Chime - AVANTEK Mini Waterproof, 1000 Feet Range, 52 Melodies & 5 Volume Levels With LED Flash by James Khalifa

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Could be a 5 star if your house is made for it.

Easy To Install: Yes. Couldn't be much easier. I installed mine on the outer metal screen door which I think themanufacturer would advise against, but that's really the only place I could install it.Adhesion: Surprisingly good. I had my doubts. But its been on the door for 3 weeks now with no problem.Volume Control: Here is the first problem, The volume is NOT the same on the two ringer units. One unit is a lot louder than the other.Biggest Problem: Unless you have a house with one room with is 1000 feet long, the range in the units is NOT 1000 feet. In my house I have the unit mounted on the door. The signal bounces off the opposing wall into the living room, then again into the dining room, After those two bounces I need it to bounce again into a hallway then another hallway. It does not! So the range I'm effectively getting is MAYBE 50 feet, Fortunately, I can still hear it from my bedroom.Bottom line: If you are going to buy this unit. DO NOT buy the two unit combo because its unlikely you will get the range to justify two units. Save the extra $10. Also, I wouldn't trust I'm going to get the signal past two rooms. If you don't have a lot of people ringing your doorbell, then this $15 solution (DON'T buy the two pack) is better than calling an electrician to try to figure out why your doorbell isn't working. But, if you do have people ringing your doorbell every day, then get a real ("oldschool") doorbell. Also, the doorbell itself that you mount onto the door is shockingly small. If you play dominoes, its almost exactly that size!

Pros
  • Came quick and works good
Cons
  • The chime may be too jarring for some people with sensory sensitivities
