This is the third skimmer I have owned in the last 20 years. The last one required an air pump and a rock/block to create little bubbles (awesome, I have Don Ho in mind now) and a separate water pump. It will run for about a week without reconfiguration as the air stone gradually clogs. I gave it up a few years ago. It was a dream compared to my previous one. The instructions could have been clearer, but Google knows everything, so that wasn't a problem, and there aren't many details and configurations to figure out anyway. I liked the option that allowed me to change the position of the air intake: it saved me from installing it in a small pan. Loaded in, center dial started and serviced. I've made some minor adjustments since then, but pretty much reverted it to the first setting I had. I thought there was too much water in the manifold after the first day, but after running it through the drain hose (love that feature) and sniffing what was being removed, I decided that what I got was definitely not in owned the tank. ! Or near someone's nose, for that matter. Huh, that was awful. Hm. Hey darling, feel it! So it works fine in my 90 gallon FO tank. It's easy to set up. It seems well built. And quiet! I can't think of anything else to ask of a skimmer.
