Audiopipe 6.5 " speaker box Marine

These speaker boxes fail in many ways. First, they can accommodate a 6.5" speaker. You are not. The speaker hole is too big for a 6.5 inch. I took them to my local stereo store where they tried different brands of 6.5 inch speakers. None of the speakers could be installed because the holes in the boxes were too big to screw in. speaker was inserted. The solution was that I went to a separate stereo shop and had them make ABS rings that could be attached to the speaker boxes so you could even screw in a speaker. The additional cost for this was $127. The second problem with the boxes is that there is no hole or base for wiring. You need to take a drill and make a hole to pass the wiring through. This can affect the integrity of the marine box (depending on how good you can handle it). the drill and possibly the rubber grommets). .The last question is the price. For what you get and what you end up having to do, I think the $55 price tag is insane. Granted they are fiberglass, not pressed cardboard (which will melt in the marine environment), but given the time and extra money I spent on them, $20 each, I'd feel a lot better about this purchase. In conclusion, I would not recommend these speakers. If I hadn't dyed them yet (bright white didn't work for me), I would have reclaimed them.
