worth your money.

Well my 13th old Onkyo Tx-SR805 still works fine but I wanted to try some of the newer audio codecs like DTS X, Dolby Atmos and Auro as I just got the new Sony XBR -TV 65X950H 4K bought together with Klipsch RP-8000F and additional speakers. I did a little research and finally settled on the Denon AVRX4700H. After initially setting it up as a 7.1 system with the Audssey configuration, I found I could hear things more clearly and even hear different sounds in familiar material. I was interested in Dolby Atmos, so I wanted to try the Height and Elevation speakers. When I finally set up a working 11.1 HT setup, I was very impressed with the sounds that became increasingly clear and distinct around the bladder, particularly when implementing height and elevation. The setup wizard was very helpful in setting up from 7.1 to 9.1 and finally to 11.1 using the Denon Pre-Out Height2 as the input to the Onkyo AUX1 input for channels 10 and 11. The setup wizard turned out to be a surprisingly helpful tool. The AVRX4700H is quite expensive, but I think it's worth the money considering how much I've invested in the rest of my HT configuration. Now there isn't a single weak link that makes me doubt that I made the right choice. Sound effects flow much more freely when I can precisely control the transition of sounds from front to back, side to side, and criss-cross. All in all an exciting experience. The eARC HDMI monitor works perfectly with Sony's eARC HDMI input to receive TV audio and Blu-ray device audio from sources to your TV with a single HDMI cable. The Denon turns on when I turn on my Sony TV and automatically adjusts the TV's sound.
