I originally bought this to repair a fender crack on my ATV caused by vibration. Along with the welding equipment, Mfg includes a DVD mini-course. If you follow their instructions, you'll be AMAZING at all the plastic waste you can fix (and save from landfill) (and save your wallet, too). I followed their instructions and welded/repaired a creeping fender crack on my ATV. After I finished sanding and painting, you can't even tell there was a crack. This welding set is a really useful tool; and if you are doing any repairs this is a MUST. As more and more things are made with sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much plastic, this kit will pay for itself many times over. Note: Material preparation and "choosing the right filler rod” are KEY to a great weld; It doesn't matter whether it's metal or plastic. I (so far) prefer plastic welding rods to their "FiberFlex" rods. (The same material used for car bumper covers. Very, very strong and bonds well to many other types of plastic.)
