I used to have a very similar sensor box but without an external wired sensor. My old device became intermittent and now can only be used in the partially closed position. I took it apart and the manufacturer used a solid little core wire to go into the probe, so of course they broke after a few openings of the probe. This device is probably from the same manufacturer as many others, but this one has a connector for an additional wired probe. Not only can this external sensor be used in an oven with the main unit outside, it even has an alarm that will beep when the set temperature is reached. I like it. So now they sell it with TWO sensors so it's a fallback in case one fails. And an alarm that shows you a fail-safe cooking temperature. And at a very good price. What do you not like here?
