I bought this to replace the small metal bracket on the factory version with two suction cups for my beloved Bell V995 in a work car. My original detector vibrated heavily against the glass. I have the original version in several other cars and it works great, only the angle of the glass in this minivan makes it vibrate. Firstly, this mount was shipped quickly and arrived in brand new condition, just as I expected. The mount itself is solid and well made with a large suction cup that is easy to attach. The part that goes into the detector is plastic and should be metal, metal covered with thin rubber, preferably for quietness. As others have said I doubt the durability of the plastic part at this point as it flexes while the rest of the mount is amazing and strong. I've had the mount for several months now and no problems, even putting the detector in and out every weekday. I had to put a small piece of tape on the part that goes in the sensor to silence it, but that might be because the car vibrates more than most. If they updated the side dish it would be 5 stars all day but it's still better than most and I think the side dish would be easy enough to make at home if needed so no worries. I would recommend it
