It enhances the shine or sparkle of the jewelry.

I got my wife a really nice bracelet for Christmas. Of course it came in a nice box with the designers logo on it. I just happened to come across this and was very intrigued. It really, really highlighted the sparkle of the bracelet when she opened it. I just wished there had been a third LED in the center or the two we're spaced closer together.This would be perfect if you were presenting the gift at a candlelit dinner or in a dimly lit room.

Pros

I've not yet given the gift, but so far, so good.

Cons

The LED light drains batteries even when it's not on
