I had this inverter on a power supply I built to use with my astronomy gear for a few things that won't work on 9V would. I hooked it up to a deep cycle marine battery and used it to regularly power a small netbook and sometimes charge some electronics or use a small light source. It didn't want to power my big laptop (it turned out I probably needed a pure sine wave inverter for that) but worked great for smaller devices and was suitable for my "occasional use". Sure, 4 months into Samlex's 2 year warranty it died out of nowhere (I think that's why they cut the warranty by 2 years) but so far I've found it to be a good little inverter and well worth the price is. .
