Thought to be unstable at first, but.

When I got it put together (easy to do, just so many things to consider at the same time), it didn't stand firm. One leg was shorter than the rest, like a wobbly table/chair at a restaurant. But once i started putting things on it,. it lost its wobble. There was nothing in the instructions as to how to stabilize it or make sue the 'legs' all had the same length. Best I could tell, when putting the shelves on, if they don';t sit the same on each post, it can cause this situation. Not sure how it resolved itself, just that it did.
