The case consists of 9 alternating layers of acrylic and plastic. These layers are attached with 4 screws at the corners. The case ships with the screws installed. To place your rpi in it you will have to remove the screws, which will completely disassemble the layers. Then you connect the layers one by one and add your rpi in the right step. I see many reviews stating the case is blocking a port or not fitting. It's just not true. Properly assembled I have access to all ports as the layers are perfectly cut to form rpi 4. The problem is that the layers aren't bi-directional, which means the layers have to be placed in the correct orientation. If you put the acrylic layer back in front, the cases still fit together, so you're blocking the port without knowing it. Admittedly, the instructions could be improved here. The 12 steps have pictures showing the correct orientation for adding each layer, but all the steps are stuffed into postcard-sized instructions. Ideally, images should be half a page or one page at a time to make them easier to see for those with low vision. I'm lucky not to have this problem, but I could easily tell it was a problem. I understand the price tradeoff, but I'll say there's room for improvement. The company offers an installation video, but it is not required. In terms of the actual contents, the case itself looks classy and offers ample protection from the elements. The fan is completely silent even when connected to the 5V line, so I didn't even bother trying the 3.3V line, and in combination with heatsinks it helps keep temperatures down to keep. The power cord provides enough current to keep the RPI running as long as I'm holding it (not sure where a reviewer got 0.8A from). It also has a neat on/off switch which makes unplugging the rpi much easier than constantly unplugging and plugging the power cord. Long story short, get this if you need a case with a fan and power cord, and are willing to spend 15 minutes to put it together properly.
