The product name here on Revain was "Dual Bay External Hard Drive Docking Station" showing that the cloning of hard disks is possible. . But the box I received has "Hard Drive Duplicator" written all over it without mentioning the docking station. I thought of sending it back because I need a docking station for two old hard drives, but after testing it I figured it would still do what I needed. Of course, the installation in Windows 10 was literally "plug and play”. Nothing to install or tinker with. In this case, my computer immediately recognized my two old hard drives. But after leaving it alone for a while while doing my work on my computer, I noticed that the hard drives sound busy. I looked and saw that one of the small LEDs was blinking. I then checked the windows file manager and found that the "target" disk was almost completely erased. It seemed that it was being prepared for replacement with the "original" disk. I pulled the plug but it was too late - now I have 452GB of 465GB free instead of 0GB of 465GB which I have had for several years. Not happy about that. But now I know better. Now when I turn on the device, I only leave one hard drive plugged in at a time, so there's nothing else to clone. And this is how it works perfectly. It's fast. It's pretty inexpensive. It's super easy and convenient. A great way to access old hard drives or use them as an external backup.
