Unreliable and not as pictured

Tested on multiple computers with multiple established hard drives. 80% of the time the computer can't see the hard drive and sometimes freezes, 20% of the time it connects, but I'm afraid to move any files with it. This is done via a USB connection. To top it off, it's not like the picture, the power button is now moved to the back instead of up, which is one of the reasons I bought it. This appears to be a revised version, meaning the previous positive reviews no longer apply. Dissatisfied…

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Crumpled

Lightweight, functional, loud

I have the 5 port option. Works right out of the box, put a couple of large drives in and they ran with no fuss. Disk-to-disk or computer-to-disk data transfer speeds aren't terrible as you'd expect, but not as fast as internal drives connected via SATA. Build quality is decent, but mostly just hollow plastic with no hard drive support, leading to lots of noise. Vibration discs are very noisy against plastic. I took some large rubber bands to wrap around the discs and base to keep…

Pros
  • Easy to set up
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Quick and easy Hard drive fit Accessory

I purchased an ORICO SATA to USB 3.0 Slim Docking Station in addition to another brand of docking station that I already own that appears to be discontinued. I have been happy with ORICO products in the past and this low profile dock did not disappoint. Works perfectly. It seems a bit lighter and less reliable than my old one, the PSU is multi-region installed with a US plug and the power cord is thinner and shorter, but the key features and compatibility and performance are all I wanted. I…

This device WORKS! Best in Computer Accessories & Peripherals

How often do you buy something that doesn't live up to your expectations? Oh, Revain can be one of the most convenient companies when it comes to fixing things. But who has the problem of working with a defective product. "ORICO WORKS and works well." My company uses a lot of hard drives and I've used different docking systems with multiple hard drives. Nothing compares to the practicality, speed and smoothness of this device. I'm planning to buy another one soon. A small problem and that might

Plug and play, ready to use

My old server (with a 5 disk ZFS raidz0 that I didn't want to lose) died. I had another server available with a USB 3.0 port, so I bought this case, added drives, and hooked everything up. The server recognized the disks immediately, and one command later my ZFS volume was up and running on the new host. ! As expected, each disk is presented separately to the host. It's a bit odd to have a "case" that only uses gravity and the tension of the connectors to hold the drives in place, and that's…

Not quite what I had in mind but in the end does what I needed

The product name here on Revain was "Dual Bay External Hard Drive Docking Station" showing that the cloning of hard disks is possible. . But the box I received has "Hard Drive Duplicator" written all over it without mentioning the docking station. I thought of sending it back because I need a docking station for two old hard drives, but after testing it I figured it would still do what I needed. Of course, the installation in Windows 10 was literally "plug and play”. Nothing to install or…

Convenient external drive bay

I only received this dock today so my review should be viewed in terms of very limited use. I have a Mac Pro model (Mid 2012) running Mac OS 10.12.6. (Yes, I'm a bit behind, but this is the last OS this old PC will run, and I'm not willing to spend the $6,000 minimum on a new Mac Pro!). However, my first impressions are: Pros: 1.) Extremely easy setup. It took about three minutes from box to setup to get everything working. All I had to do was plug in the power cable, plug the USB 3.0 into the…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
