Plug and play, ready to use

My old server (with a 5 disk ZFS raidz0 that I didn't want to lose) died. I had another server available with a USB 3.0 port, so I bought this case, added drives, and hooked everything up. The server recognized the disks immediately, and one command later my ZFS volume was up and running on the new host. ! As expected, each disk is presented separately to the host. It's a bit odd to have a "case" that only uses gravity and the tension of the connectors to hold the drives in place, and that's the only real weakness of the device. It's probably not intended for "permanent" setups like I use, at least not against something that prevents drives from sliding forward from the connectors. However, the drive bays (at least with 3.5-inch drives) have no "play" so that the drives cannot wobble back and forth. It's ok to use on a shelf or cabinet. Caution is advised. if you have curious children or pets, as any of them can pull discs out of the unit. Lab work, if you regularly work with a large number of hard drives and are tired of constantly changing adapters and cables. Hot-plugging is supported.
