So the product is excellent. But all you get is a tube, and the directions mention that the "flattened" base of the tube is the applicator. It doesn't work at all so I did the following on white plastic countertops with a blister peeling off the chipboard: 1. Sand the peeled area so the edges are less visible and the appliqué adheres better.2. Thoroughly cleaned with water and a sponge, then dried with a hair dryer.3. Follow the instructions to mix the tube thoroughly.4. Apply a generous amount of "paste" to the stain and use a small metal spatula to level and smooth it out. Repeated application and smoothing 2 more times.6. Thoroughly sand the area with 220 grit or finer sandpaper. The secret is to use a spatula and several layers. With the first layer I could see the wood particles through the application. The second layer was a little better, but the third layer was perfect. The spatula ensures a perfect, smooth surface. If you have a large area that needs a makeover, you should look for ways to mimic the light texture of most laminate and Formica countertops for the perfect makeover. In the end, replacing the entire countertop saved me hundreds! Also NO 9 second correction :-)
