This light was the last attempt to control green algae blooms in my tank and start over so I remembered reading about UV light and how it kills growth. bacteria and algae. My next problem was the placement of the UV light because you didn't need to expose your solution to the light. So the filter was my only easy option, so I found this UV light that was smaller than the other and fit in my large 60 gallon aquarium filter. I cut a small hole in the cover for the cord and hid the flashlight behind the filters. It took about a week before I saw the light actually work. I couldn't see my goldfish until it reached the aquarium glass lol. it was very bad. So thanks for this affordable light it saved me some work and my goldfish and a few plants I have are happy with the new light I got, also a very simple but effective UV light that is working
