It turns on and cools down, that's all.

Not very happy with the device. Yes, it's cooling and there's a power saving mode.1. the timer does not work. I turned it on with a 1 hour timer and wake up 8 hours later while it's still running. I've tried keeping it right in front of me with the remote and I've tried setting the time on the unit and using the remote but still no luck. 2. The remote control sometimes controls the device and sometimes not. Oh, and it needs to be pointed directly at the device for it to work.
