I have been using this wire kit on my 1992 Lexus SC400 for almost a year the car had to endure the desert heat of the Southwest United States. This NGK spark plug wire harness is far superior to any wire harness I have had on a 1UZ FE V8 engine. This superiority is not limited to the blue color of the wire's insulating sheath. The only cable set that comes close in quality is the Toyota OEM cable set, but it is much more expensive than this NGK set. The quality of the NGK harness meets or exceeds the OEM and is far superior to cheap generic harnesses from Autozone and O'Reilly Auto Parts. The first significant difference in the NGK kit is that each spark plug wire has a label with a number that indicates which engine cylinder that wire should be connected to. It might not sound like much, but when it comes to a rat's nest, spark plug wiring sits at 1UZ FE. This first generation V8 engine predates the Lexus coil in spark plug systems, so the spark plug wire is a consumable item that will need to be replaced sooner or later. The next big difference is that NGK wire has a much larger gripping surface on the spark plug boot. This is very helpful when removing the cap from the spark plug. The third major difference is that the NGK harness connectors are correctly removed and reinserted when inserted or removed from the distributor cap ports. The fourth key difference is that the NGK cables complete with ignition coil cables sit perfectly in the ignition coils every time. The only downside I noticed with the NGK cable set is that the cables are a bit thicker than the OEM cables. Therefore, creative rerouting may be required when routing the cables through the cable guides found on the engine's cylinder head valve covers. I didn't have to cut or break anything to fit these wires to my car's engine. I had no trouble routing the cables to make sure they didn't touch the timing belt on both the left and right side of the cog (in front of the distributor caps). I also had no trouble routing the wires to ensure they tucked into the valve cover guides (around the spark plug stems) so the plastic spark plug wire covers were reinstalled and properly installed over the valve covers. After almost a year of riding, the blue colored insulation still looks almost new with minimal fading due to heat cycles. The black boots have slightly faded at both ends due to heat cycles but this is normal wear and tear. I would happily buy this harness again given the trouble I had with the cheap aftermarket kits. Save yourself the hassle, just buy this NGK cable set and you're done.
