We have a stainless steel compost bin and have never wanted to clean and wash it. We've been buying them for 6 years and still love them. Children take them to the compost and empty them entirely. All you need is a sponge cloth and the pot is ready to use. There seems to be a big discrepancy between the sizes of the manufacturers of these bags. I've bought from other sites (garden supplies, others) and sometimes the bag just fits in the pot while those bags are more than big enough. Especially if you overcrowd it a little, there's plenty of room to overflow. If you compost properly in the bin and till it in every now and then, the bagged cornstarch will break down nicely. Otherwise, it will take some time to decompose completely.
