The Gleam Boom Microphone is a great product, especially for the price. It's solid enough with a little care, but adding some weight and length to the base legs would make it ideal, although it probably won't be worth the extra cost for most. The extension ability is well designed for both the stand and the boom. The bag is spot on - by simply adjusting all the extensions to their minimum length, it folds down so everything fits snugly in the bag without removing anything, even the mic clip. Those like the OnStage can be extended to a higher height (then they're more prone to tipping over), but the Gleam tripod height is just right for me and easier to carry and store.
